I’m older. I’m Wiser. My acid reflux is worse than ever. I’m back.
Fans,
I am officially back in action. So as to not give you all false hope, I must tell you now that I no longer promise to update the blog every day, as I did when I first launched. Nobody likes broken promises, nobody.
Per the title of the post, acid reflux has come to play and it doesn’t seem to want to exit through the gift shop. I have done everything the doctor ordered, everything but give up wine. Am I not supposed to live? Anyways, I am hoping this blog will follow my recovery so lunches get more spicy.
WHAT: Turkey sandwich with avocado, Swiss cheese, shredded lettuce, and mustard. Quite emblematic of a midtown deli. Side of corn chips to add that special crunch.
ENJOYMENT SCALE: Today’s lunch gets a 7, but it’s not the sandwich’s fault. My heart was screaming Thai food, but my head knew better.
What did you have for lunch?
July 1, 2010. Mama needs organic and Cheeze-Its
Anyone who reads this blog knows very well that yesterday was my birthday, and that I threw (in my opinion) a really fun party. I woke up feeling top notch and wanted to call all those doubters who asked, “how will you ever work tomorrow?” to brag about how great I felt. Three hours and 4 Tylenol later I could not say the same. Unlike me, the hangover decided to sleep in and wake up just when I had to go to a really boring hour long meeting about metrics and dashboards.
Now to the lunch business. At first I thought, “it’s totes a burrito day,” but then I said to myself “lets go organic ” So I did. Three avenues and $15 dollars later I was eating an assortment of organic dishes feeling like it just might be working. The next hour would prove me wrong.
WHAT: Things that probably shouldn’t ever share a container (think spicy tuna and veggie pizza on flatbread) but really made me happy at the time. What really got me through the early afternoon was the homemade party mix with pretzels, Cheeze-Its and crackers.
ENJOYMENT SCALE: Really hard to say because I feel so crappy. I guess a 7?
lunch was good, but the party mix made from Ad Council happy hour leftovers was excellent.
June 28, 2010. Monday.
I spent most of the July 1 paycheck I haven’t even received yet on food for my birthday party, which meant lunch had to very cheap today. While lunch under impressed in a mayjah mayjah way, the Italian themed apps at my party will more than impress my guests, and isn’t that more important?
WHAT: Turkey sandwich with avocado, sprouts, tomatoes, and mustard. Pita chips on the side.
ENJOYEMENT SCALE: Today’s lunch get a 6.
On an unrelated note, this song came on my Pandora station and I remembered a. how much I like this song and b. how good Lauryn Hill was in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. You could cut her attitude with a knife, espesh when Whoopi gives her that book.

June 24, 2010. Amy is clearly not Mexican.
I really haven’t been cooking too much this summer, which has meant a lot of not so good lunches. I bought this Amy’ enchilada plate a couple days ago and thought to myself this morning, why not? Cheap, low calorie, I love Mexican food, organic. Turned out to be just alright.
WHAT: Amy’s enchilada
ENJOYEMENT SCALE: Today’s lunch gets a 6. That’s all I have to say about that.

it looks better than is tastes. unless you think it looks bad, in which case what you think is correct.
June 24, 2010. Breakfasttime Living. Because you deserve it.
I know my inconsistency has made several of you ask, “why have a blog at all if you don’t care to keep it up?”, so I am throwing in a breakfast entry to keep my readers content (read: shut them up, especially Nirmal). I usually have one of the following three items for breakfast: parfait, luna bar, or peanut butter and banana on bread or rice cake. I dropped the rice cakes when taking them out of the cabinet this morning and not even the glue like texture of peanut butter could bring the pieces back together. So I threw my lunch in my bag, which you will read about later, and headed for the thick air and heat of the subway station.
WHAT: Fage yogurt, berries, granola and honey (lots of it).
ENJOYEMENT SCALE: Today’s breakfast gets a 9. The blueberries really broke down to the perfect consistency, acting more like a yogurt flavoring and less like a toping. Feeling full and balanced on this Thursday morning.
See you at lunch!
